Merry Christmas and a stylish monochrome

Hey Christmas, its time
Sweet chimings we cannot deny
Gingle bells all over the line
To spice with merriment in all our hearts
And transmit to our faces, an everlasting smile

But if the year had in it more of sadness than gladness
Choose to envision another year in earnest
Where there's no exact promise of all round happiness
Rather keep basking in the spirit of seasons like this
Giving us a promise of hope for better things come

There isn't much to say about my outfit,... I said it all in the previous post. This is my own recreation of the monochrome trend. Green happens to be my favorite color so it was a no brainer for me. Apart from the fact that the skirt almost never straightens out, it creases with time. I love the skirt. It could be corporate, it could be dressed down with sneakers or sandals. It could also be dinner casual. It's all in the interpretation. And combinations. I hope you loved the poem. Am I the only one looking foward to the new year? I am always crazy about New Years... Yes I do the new year new me crap! But hey who cares. Just be yourself and do you!

God loves y'all like crazy

The monochrome trend; which how wear

There are so many fabulous street style ways to wear the monochrome trend this fall. In case you're not entirely sure what monochrome means, it's when you wear varying tones of only one color. It's become quite the popular trend this season, and you can make it look casual or even business chic! Check out some of the cool ways to wear the monochrome trend.

1. COLOR & CONTRAST

This ox blood combination is a fantastic fit, the loud accessories wowed the look and kept it from looking dull.. I am all for the monochrome trend, but if it starts to get dull or too monotonous then turn the heat up with a smashing accessory. You can't go wrong

2. PASTELS

Pastels are really cute, and since pastels aren't dark colors, they don't make you as hot as dark colors do. Feeling too bright, don't be scared to pair up a dark colored pair of shoes. This loose sweater and skirt combination is a fantastic streetstyle outfit idea for a cool day or a girls night out. Be sure of where you are wearing these to as you have to put the weather into consideration.

3. NEUTRAL GREY

I've realized that wearing neutral colors like black, white, or grey makes you look super chic. There's just something about those colors that ooze sophistication, don't you think? I love how she paired the ensemble with white sneakers.. Sneakers are not your style? Then don a pair of heels, bright colors and grey are a fabulous mash up. You could also play down with flat sandals or flat shoes for a total casual look.

4. BRIGHT RED

Oxford red might be what's hot this season but let's be real, a bright red color will never go out of style! To recreate a similar look, find an oversized sweater and pair it with a playful button-down skirt . If you feel like adding a little spice to your outfit, have fun with some animal print accessories! You can never go wrong with an animal-print clutch. Red is a bold color and your sure going to make a statement wherever you go with these

5. ALL BLACK

All black ensembles are always a great idea. They're sleek, slimming, and can easily be dressed up or down. Honestly, all black outfits make you look stylish without you having to even try. There are many ways you can wear all black but a fall favorite is pairing a black shirt with some black skinny jeans!

6. ALL-WHITE

A lot of people shy away from wearing all white in fear of getting it dirty, but hey, fashion is sacrifice right?! LOL! Don't deprive yourself of a great fashion opportunity! Just make sure to be extra extra careful whenever you're handling something that might stain your clothes.

Well, there you have it. These are just few awesome street style ways to wear the monochrome trend this fall! Are you fan of the trend? Of the list, which look is your favorite?

All white outfit ideas for bridal showers and events

So I'll be attending a bridal shower soon and the dress code is all white but I'll be dedicating this post to my friend Amina, who made me realize how not so easy it is to actually score this look. So here are a few ways to rock an all white outfit to an all white event or just a cool day out

1) the basic all white ensemble; like it says it's basically paring a white skirt or pants with a white shirt or blouse of the same shade and just throwing on your white pair of heels. Accessorize and you are good to go

2) throw in some pop of color; spice up your outfit by throwing in something other than white that pops.. It could be your purse or shoes your jewellery or even a pair of sneakers.. Just something that makes the outfit more fun, thankfully it's white.. It's like a blank slate, anything goes!

3) color block!; not as it seems... Who says you must wear the same shade of white.., be more fun and mix match different white colors.. Off white, beige, even peach lol....They could make for a good outfit

4) the white jumpsuit and dress: this is easy as pie. Get a classy white dress or jumpsuit, throw on some heels or sneakers and your good to go. Accessorise to your taste. Unfortunately getting a really pretty white dress has been really difficult for me and I don't trust Instagram retailers. Still I don't get good white dresses, is it where I shop? Lol

5) wear monochrome; if you are strapped for cash and can't get a new outfit, or you hate to wash and your drycleaner has gone to the village for Christmas, then get in here. Yeah yeah it's an all white party, but you can't kill yourself, you have to make do with what you have and make the most of it.

In the end.. Set out to have fun, look your best.. And be you.

Have a good day

Girl about town

Hello y'all, good morning. Today's post is titled girl about town.  I wore this to a shoot I did for soul orange vintage.. Pictures soon..
But girl about town means more than it says.
I try to have a jolly go happy attitude when am out and about, no it's not because I might be rude to my future husband.. Lol, it's because sometimes, we don't know what people are going through in their daily lives and just a smile or a kind word could go a long way... Don't get me wrong, I have my terrible days when I don't even want to say hello to myself but still, I try to remind myself that it's never always about me, and also it's easier to smile than have everyone asking what's wrong especially when you don't want to share. So I challenge you this week to dress good, be good and play good.

Any one who shoots with me knows am always playing, frustrating as it is... Lol

About my outfit... I was going for a shoot and I needed to be comfortable... So I dumped my heels for Oxford shoes.. I got the men's version. My jean skirt which I got at a steal one sunny day at yaba market ... And my blouse was a gift from my dearest fried Ese. I never thought I'd rock this satchel, it was a gift from a priest friend of mine to encourage me to read...lol..  No none of my pieces are designer labels by they look good if I say so myself. That's the topic for next week.... Have a fab week...

Compliments of the season

Simple hacks to handle your bra!

Can't live with them, can't live without them. I'm talking about bras of course. Most of us have a love-hate relationship with bras, don't we? Some bras make as happy as a little kid with candy, while some others make us want to tear our hair out. This is where bra hacks come in! Thanks to these brilliant bra hacks, you'll never ever hate a bra again. Okay, that's a lie but these do help solve most bra problems. Here we go:

RACERBACK

Don't have the right bra for a racerback? Use a paper clip to transform a regular bra. Genius!

FITTING

Here are some common bra fitting problems and solutions.

NO SEW UNDERWIRE FIX

Protruding underwire? Use moleskin to fix it. Detailed instructions here

 BACKLESS DRESSES

Backless dresses are gorgeous but can be quite tricky as far as the bra situation is concerned, especially if you're top heavy. This brilliant bra hack takes care of that.

HOW TO CHOOSE A BRA

So many types of boobs. So many bras! This little infographic will help you choose the right bra for your body type and clothing.

KEEP YOUR STRAPLESS BRA IN PLACE

Strapless bras are SO annoying! Keep them in place by following this little trick that uses a convertible strap.

HIDE YOUR BRA STRAP

Are you one of those ladies who think exposed bra straps are a no-no? Well, this tutorial was made for you!

STORAGE

Storing bras like this will help them retain their shape for a long time to come. Alternately, you can also store many bras on a single hanger to save space and keep them in shape.

 HAND WASHING YOUR BRAS

Simple!

BRA CARE

Want to make sure your bras live a long, happy, life? Follow these simple tips.

THE HUMBLE SALAD SPINNER

Hand wash your bras in a salad spinner. According to bustygirlcomics.com, all you need is enough water and soap (baby shampoo or lingerie soap) to soak your bra in. Soak it, spin the salad spinner, dump the soapy water, replace with clean water and spin again. Dump the water and spin once more until almost dry and then, hang them until completely dry.

Aren't these bra hacks pure genius? Which ones will you be trying today?

Do you get judged by the arch of you brows?

This is a late post. Am so sorry...
Back to business...
Have you ever gone out all dressed up and people just zeroed you up as dumb? Lol. Your eyebrows carefully crafted and people call you unserious?  Back then in the university, I put a lot of effort into my appearance. In Madonna university it's a bit unnecessary, but I always loved to look good. Unfortunately people took one look at me and wrote me off. Wether I was brilliant or not didn't matter, all they saw was a plastic party girl. But fashion to me is an expression of my personality, plastic or not. I am a jolly happy girl and it shows in the way I dress. Not everyone is fashionable, but this post today is to encourage both our dressed up and dressed down ladies to be yourselves and prove them wrong in the end. Put your best into everything you do and don't let anyone tell you that you can't.

My outfit today is a little dressed for the weather. Lagos is super hot so I like to wear things that allow my skin breathe depending on how long I'll be out.
The blouse belongs to my mom, and those who are familiar with me know I love oversized clothes, and when I feel they overwhelm me, I belt them. I have always loved blue and monochrome combined, and the heels are for a boost of carriage and confidence

Embrace and unleash your inner fashionista, and always dress for comfort

Have a fab week guys... And remember
Keep it classy
