Worst fashion trends of 2013.; GOTTA HAVE EM? OR MAKE EM STOP

Even the biggest designers try to push trends that aren’t going anywhere, and some of those become the bane of fashionistas everywhere. If you’ve rocked these trends in 2013, maybe it’s time to let them go and look forward to the more flattering and less eccentric trends of 2014.

See some of the worst fashion trends of 2013 and decide if you’ll let them into your looks next season or simply forget your ever liked them in the first place. From popular items like bejeweled baseball caps to the worst celebrity trend of 2013, here are the ugliest fashion trends of this year.

Low-Raise Waists

Flattering for models, low-raise waists aren’t that fashionable or comfortable for most women. The trend of low-raise tops almost died in 2012, but it still plagued 2013 collections. If you actually enjoy showing off your belly-button, you don’t need to drop this trend, because it’s already been spotted on the catwalk for 2014 collections.

Peplum

After having a pretty good year in 2012, peplum exploded into one of the worst fashion trends of 2013. It can still be flattering and feminine, but more and more fashionistas are saying no to the peplum, especially in the variety that also exposes your midriff. Don’t wear out your peplum pieces, they’ll certainly circle back in a few years, but give them a break in 2014.

Harem and Pajama Pants

Despite being less than flattering, harem pants have made a big splash this year, both on the runway and in street style. Let go of the extra volume if you never liked it and while you’re at it, also drop the pajama pants. They can make a big fashion statement in the right print, but most of the time that statement is “I don’t really care about fashion”.

Fancy Sweatshirts and Sweatpants

From sweatshirts with prints that try to be cool way too hard to the fashion nightmare of denim sweatpants, it’s time to reconsider how these types of items fit into your 2014 wardrobe. Unless your style is impeccable and fancy sweatshirts and sweatpants are just the odd error, it’s time to boot them for good.

Wedge Boots and Sneakers

Wedge sneakers have had their chance in the spotlight and tall wedge boots have partially replaced them this year as one of the ugliest fashion trends of 2013. Say good-bye to both trends and give the wedges a rest with more comfortable shoes that are just as trendy.

Too-Short Shorts

Save the short shorts and the cutoffs for summer music festival and barbecues in 2014. They’ve already been everywhere this year and it’s time for your butt cheeks to have a rest. You can tell short shorts that are way too short have become one of the worst fashion trends of 2013 since almost every “sexy” Halloween costume features them.

Cowl-Necks and Other Droopy Sweaters

Both cowl-neck and waterfall sweaters have run their course this year, so don’t bet on them still being stylish next year. They’re one of the worst fashion trends of 2013 because the extra volume is rarely flattering. Drop the droopy sweaters and go for more fitted trends next season.

Bejeweled Baseball Caps

The baseball cap has been one of the most ubiquitous sports-inspired fashion accessories in 2013, and can’t be missed from any list of the ugliest fashion trends this year. If they’re bejeweled or extra shiny, forget about them next spring and don’t look back.

Sequins

The sequin trend has been trending for too long now and though I propose it's time to drop the shiny trend and move on to greener pastures, but some people beg to differ, the shine if not worn properly draws too much attention and might be dangerous for people with photosensitive epilepsy! Lol

So what do u think about all these trends.... GOTTA HAVE IT? OR MAKE EM FRIGGIN STOP?

Beauty secrets and remedies that every lady should try by Neni stone

BN Beauty Contributor Neni Stone has tried and tested a couple of beauty solutions to your everyday problems. From how how to soothe a dry nose to teeth whitening solutions, here are some solutions Neni has suggested.

When it comes to makeup, skin hair or any other beauty problem, chances are you need a solution fast, and discovering beauty solutions has become a bit of a hobby of mine.

So, I’ve collected my favorites below to help you the next time you’re in need of a quick beauty fix.

Use Chapsticks to soothe a dry nose
This particularly comes in handy during the Harmattan or Winter season. Just like it works on chapped lips, it can help moisturize the skin right around your nose and provide instant relief. You can also rub some inside of your nose when it’s feeling very dry, sore or just uncomfortable.

ChapStick

Just be sure not to stick the tube up your nose and then use it on your lips (because that’s just gross!).

Use honey to heal minor burns
For minor burns reach for some raw honey. A thick layer f honey will immediately cut the sting while also providing antibacterial protection and keeping your skin hydrated.

Reduce a pimple with full-fat yogurt
Dab a bit of full-fat yogurt on a pimple and let it dry (this takes around 20 minutes) before rinsing off with warm water to reduce inflammation and redness quickly, easily and cheaply. The lactic acid helps unclog the pore and breakdown the dead skin cells. The probiotics help to balance bacteria, and the fat helps to moisturize without clogging the skin.

Prolong your hairdo with lemon juice
Squeeze a small amount of fresh lemon juice on a cotton ball and dab at the root area to absorb any excess oils while leaving your hair with a lovely scent.

Use a Hand Sanitizer to reduce oil on your face
Got an oily face? Use hand sanitizer. The ingredient they have in common that works for this trick is dimethicone; a type of silicone. It smooths like a primer and provides a protective coat locking in moisture which creates the shine. You can use this along the hair line, your forehead or T-zone.

Use a toothbrush to exfoliate
Your toothbrush is your lips’ best friend, use it to take care of chapped lips. Use it to exfoliate the lips by making small, circular motions.

Extra tip: A clean toothbrush can also be one of the best tools for de-clumping mascara.

Use cucumbers to reduce eye inflammation
Use cool cucumbers under or over the eyelids to decrease puffiness and inflammation. Tea bags work as well.

Use excess eye cream on nail cuticles
Say hello to soft cuticles! The next time you apply eye cream to the areas around your eye and you have got some left over, apply it on your cuticles. The extra moisturizing properties in the eye cream makes them perfect for nails.

Use coconut oil or sesame oil to whiten your teeth
Swish coconut oil or sesame oil in your mouth first thing in morning for around twenty minutes. Spit it out, rinse your mouth with water, then proceed to brush your teeth. This helps for super white teeth and to get rid of cavities.

Use aspirins and shampoo to cure dandruff
Add 2 crushed aspirins to your favorite shampoo to turn it into a dandruff-blasting product. The pills’ salicylic acid breaks down dead skin cells and product buildup.

There you have it, 10 beauty remedies that can help you out on a daily basis. Ever tried any beauty solutions? Be sure to share your experiences with us.

Versace pre-fall collection 2014

The Versace pre-fall 2014 collection brings a good dose of femininity and sex appeal into the spotlight as always. Donatella Versace brought once again stunning options worth drawing inspiration from. With Versace being the most searched brand on Google this year, it is clear that the brand knows what today's fashionistas lust for and how to meet these needs. For the pre-fall season, the designer still brought a rock 'n roll vibe to the new options yet not as much as in the past.

One of the reasons why the Versace pre-fall 2014 collection doesn't feel as edgy as the Versace fall 2013 line, for example, is the color palette used which revolves on a variety of gorgeous pastel tones which bring a delicate vibe to the new ensembles. The label created a variety of simple curve-hugging fluid dresses paired with chic fur coats and sexy accessories with an edgy allure. Studded biker jackets were also a great pick for adding a modern flair to the new looks.

2014 is looking up guys, fashionwise, and am loving this collection, it makes me anticipate what's to come....

HAve a fab weekend

Fashion tips for ladies with large busts

There are seemingly a number of fashion tips for women with large breasts out there. While a bigger bust is often deemed desirable, sometimes the reality can be far different. It’s a fine line between staying on top of the latest trends and choosing cuts that flatter a larger bust. From minimising to enhancing their appearance, the following are a few handy fashion tips for women with large breasts.

Embrace the wrap
Wrap dresses have firmly entrenched themselves as being must-haves in many wardrobes, and with good reason. Wrap tops and dresses work wonders for bigger busts as they separate the breasts and enhance their appearance.

Avoid high necklines
2. AVOID HIGH NECKLINES

This is probably one of the most important fashion tips for women with large breasts. Wearing high necklines can lead to the appearance of a ‘uni-boob’ which is flattering to no one. For this reason, it’s generally best to avoid high, rounded necklines and turtlenecks.

Avoid halter necks
Much like high necklines, halterneck styles can have an unflattering effect if you have a larger bust. Halternecks can make already large breasts look bigger than they are and it’s often harder to wear a suitable supportive bra underneath.

STICK TO SCOOPS AND V-NECKLINES

I previously mentioned the idea of the ‘uni-boob’, and a good remedy to this is to wear scoop or v-neck tops. These necklines provide an open expanse of skin between your neck and bust, creating the appearance of a smaller bust.

GET THE RIGHT BRA

As far as fashion tips for women with large breasts go, this is both for functional and aesthetic purposes. If you’ve never been properly fitted for a bra before, then it’s about time that you do. The right bra will not only accentuate your bust and provide better support, but also make the rest of your clothes sit and look better.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT SLEEVE LENGTH

The length of your sleeve can make all the difference when it comes to enhancing the appearance of your bust. If you’ve got a larger bust, opt for three quarter sleeves as these are generally more slimming than short or sleeveless styles.

But then again, if u have slim arms.... Go for it

CHOOSE THICKER STRAPS
If you’ve got a bigger bust, avoid spaghetti straps at all costs. They’ll only exaggerate the appearance of your bust. They don’t provide much support either. If you do want to wear a singlet type top, then opt for one with thicker, more supportive straps as they will act to balance out your bust.

WEAR FITTED JACKETS

This fashion tip for women with large breasts is about choosing the right kind of jacket. Women with larger busts should steer clear of boxy or bomber jackets and instead opt for a fitted, streamlined style that’s nipped in at the waist.

AVOID BAGGY STYLES

Loose or baggy styles of clothing can swamp your figure and make you appear larger than you are. This is doubly troubling for those with large breasts. Wear clothes that are more fitted to help create a slim, streamlined appearance.

Fashion must haves; Dungarees!!!!!

Hello awesome people, today's trend alerts is dungarees !! These are overalls usually made from denim fabrics... Though these days they also come in chinos leather and other fabrics
It's been trending for a while now and here are different tips on how to rock your dungarees

DITCH THE DENIM
A way to changing things up when it comes to how to wear overalls fashionably is to choose a fabric other than denim. Leather overalls are a very ‘now’ option, as is coloured corduroy. Overall-style playsuits made from softer fabrics could also be an option worth investigating

GET THE RIGHT FIT!!!

To work a high fashion look when it comes to longer length overalls, opt for a slim cut rather than baggier styles. This will help create a more streamlined look and prevent you from looking swallowed up by denim from head to toe. For shorter overalls, you want a pair that allows room to move but still in proportion to your body.

ADD ADULT ACCESSORIES

Give your overalls a very adult makeover by teaming them with ‘grown up’ accessories. Think of things along the lines of a luxe faux fur coat, leather jackets, statement shoes, and embellished accessories

SLIP ON SOME HEELS
The last time you wore overalls (as a child) you may have teamed them with jelly sandals or canvas sneakers. For how to wear overalls fashionably as an adult, it’s all about wearing them with very adult footwear. Team your overalls with sleek stilettos, platforms, or wedges to complete this outfit transformation.

If the logistics of overalls makes them a no-go for your wardrobe (let’s be honest, they’re not always the most flattering of styles for a variety of adult body shapes), then why not try one in dress form? From slim cuts to those with fuller, flattering skirts, the overall dress is a great alternative.

When it comes to how to wear your overalls fashionably, it’s all about teaming them with more ‘grown up’ accessories. What are your thoughts on the humble overall? Do you have any tips on how to wear overalls fashionably? Would you wear these? Share you thoughts!!
